One of the things that Penghu is famous for are the stone weirs that fishermen have used for decades to capture fish. The stones are piled up and fish swim into them when the tide is up. When the tide goes out, the fish are trapped inside and the villagers have a much easier time collecting them. This is one of the main tourist sites on ChiMei, as the heart-shaped weirs appeal to the Taiwanese sense of cuteness. Posted by Hello
